Although Art
still remains a salesman at heart, he's also still an accountant. BMW Motorrad
USA has just created a Financial Fundamentals training course with the aid of
our Art. Art, as a CPA, and
with his financial background that includes experience
with multi-national corporations along with operating a truck sales and service
operation, was able to provide "real world" experience to the training course.
The program is for motorcycle dealer management to understand and review the
financial basics of operating a BMW Motorrad dealership.
How about Art? He says this was an interesting experience but not as much fun
as riding his R1200GS or chatting with customers. Art loves riding BMWs more
than ever.
Ron is a long-time BMW rider and has ridden over 200,000 miles on his R100/7, covering most of the US and Canada, including Newfoundland. He says motorcycling is the greatest way to see the country. Ron is a former Motorcycle Safety Foundation Instructor. He's been with us since 2000, and he and wife Evy enjoy gourmet cooking. They are parents to CRM's mascot dog, Dunkin, and are also grandparents to Gerald who keeps them hopping when he's home from college.
Cheryl is a long time rider and outdoor enthusiast. Both she and her husband Dave have BMW's.
Drew is our Vespisti, the co-owner of a Rochester eatery (Open Face on South Avenue), and a graduate of RIT. He comes with a good knowledge of scooters and is an active member of the local Rochester Negative Image Scooter Club, that meets at his restaurant on Wednesday evenings. Drew has just purchased his first BMW, a 1976 blue R90/6. It will join his 2006 Vespa GTS and 1966 Vespa in the garage.
Tom
is like the encyclopedia of BMW and Vespa parts. Ask Tom; he can find it or knows
where to find it and where it goes 98% of the time. Naturally he can't have the
answer 100% of the time; that wouldn't be human, but he'll do his darnest to help
you out. Tom has been with us since 2001, and has won several After Sales Select
(Parts) awards from BMW.
Tom rides an R1150GS Adventure with which he commutes to work most of the time.
Other days he might commute on his '72 R60/5 or '64 Honda Super 90. He's sad to
say he sold his '74 Vespa for some home improvements but we'll bet he'll figure
out how to have another. He's a versatile guy.

Lyn
has trouble deciding "which ride" today.
These two are her favorite rides now; the
Vespa 250GTV is so fun, everyone smiles or waves when she rides by. How cool
is that? She looks for errands to run for the dealership and even does her
grocery shopping on the Vespa as it has plenty of storage options. 65 mpg
doesn't hurt either.
The R1200R is a wonderful bike that is now her travel preference. It is so
light and nimble, she barely noticed the change from her former favored F650CS.
The main difference she noted were the quieter twin vs. the single cylinder
engine and the increased power.
Lyn continues to strongly feel that if you want to ride, you should go for
it. Don't wait around and let the desire pass you by. Taking the MSF course
will tell you if it's for you. Always wear appropriate riding gear and then
just go riding. Lyn and Art are having the time of their lives, they only wish
they had more time to ride.
Marilyn is our bookkeeper and keeps track of all that paperwork, and has been with us since 2001. The boss calls her the "Quickbooks Queen!" She can balance the business checkbook to the penny. Only the best can lay claim to that. Marilyn keeps all of us in line with keeping accurate records.
And finally, the Webmaster,
who has been riding BMWs since 1973.
